The Jog Falls project at Lingamanakki village of Shimoga District in Karnataka, was an exercise in responsible conservation of ecology and creative conservation of the Culture and society of the Malnad Region.
The project was spread over a large land area of 40 acres that includes specially designed Entrance, Administration block, Aquarium that can be viewed from different levels, Children’s park, Food court, Heritage Village, Native ayurvedic healing Centre, Herbal garden, Fountain courts, Camping facilities, Picnic areas, Boating etc.
All the construction was focused to use natural materials in a conservative way including a rainwater harvesting system. The design was developed with concept of keeping the Malnad village traditions as it is in all parts of design from the food to structural designs.Different types of fountains where made from that in water bodies, Sculptural fountains, Navarasa fountains, festival of fountains, fountain of energy etc.All the trees selected where of indigenous species and which can help in enhancing the biodiversity of the site making the village eco friendly in all aspects.
